Facilities
The Chaplaincy is a long four storied building, three of which are available to students. On the ground floor is ‘CHAPLAINS’ Coffee and Lunch Bar where tea, coffee, snacks and hot meals are served from 10.00 am until
2.30 pm (Monday – Friday)
Behind the cloistered garden is the Corpus Christi Chapel where Mass is celebrated daily during term, Monday to Friday at 12.15 pm (12.45pm during exams) and on Sundays at 8.00 pm.
The first floor houses a comfortably furnished lounge where students can sit and solve the problems of the world again! Next door is the Double room which is used for talks and lectures. Half way down the corridor is the Chaplain’s office and opposite that a general office. No appointment is necessary to see the Chaplain, who is only too pleased to be taken away from paperwork.
On the second floor can be found the Iona room (all the rooms bear the names of Irish monasteries) where groups meet. Continuing down the corridor we find the Clonmacnois Prayer Room, a quiet and peaceful oratory. Next door is the Library which is open Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 10.00 pm (5.00 pm Friday), closed weekends. It is an excellent place for study.
Students are warmly invited to avail of these facilities.
